Become a Junior Commission Officer (JCO) (Religious Teacher) in the Army
Applications are invited from male candidates only for recruitment as Junior Commissioned Officer (Religious Teacher) for RRT 56 and RRT 57 course in the Indian Army who fulfill the following eligibility criteria :
* Vacancies : RRT 56 - 36 posts (Pandit-34, Padre-2), RRT 57 : 30 posts (Pandit-28, Maulvi-2) -
* Qualification : The minimum educational qualification for appointment will be graduation in any discipline from a recognised university. In addition they must alsp possess one of the following qualification accding to the religious denomination of the individuals :
o Pandit : Madhyama in Sanksrit or Bhushan in Hindi or equivalent standard standard in the regional language concerned. Those who have passed BA with Sanskrit/Hindi as one of the elective subjects but not have done Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi are also eligible.
o Padre : Any person who hase been ordained priest by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority and is still on the approved list of the local Bishop.
* Age : 27-34 years as on 12/05/2008 for RRT 56 and 30/06/2008 for RRT 57.
* Physical Standard: As applicable to the regular army [Height-155cm, Weight-50Kg, Chest - 77 cm, Candidate should be able to run one mile in eight minutes.
* Pay Scale : JCO will get the pay scale of Naib Subedar of Rs. 5620-140-8140
Procedure to Apply :
Candidates are required to submit duly filled prescribed Application Form along with all required documents duly superscribed "Application for JCO ( Religious Teacher) RRT-56 Course or RRT-57 Course" on the top outer coever of the envelope to the Headquarter Recruitment Zone of which the candidate is domicile. Candidate has to appear for the written test from the same plac. Candidates found eligible will be issued call up letters by concerned HQ RTg Zone/ARO etc. for initial screening which will include chacking of original certifictes and medical examination. The screening candidates will be put through written examination which will be conducted on 13 Jan 2008 and will comprise of Two papers, one for General Awareness (Max. marks 250) and second for knowledge specific for particular religious denominations (Max. marks 250) to which the candidate belongs. Successful candidates will be interviewed at selected Regt Centres.
