Air-India Limited invites applications for the post of Dy. Manager-Technical (Trainee) from Indian Citizens belonging to General/ Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Other Backward Class Categories for filling existing vacancies and to maintain waitlist for future requirements :-

Dy. Manager-Technical (Trainee) Location : Mumbai
Eligibility: BE/B.Tech(Aeronautical/ Mech/ CSE/ EEE/ ECE)

Post: Dy. Manager-Technical (Trainee)

Number of Posts: 17

Educational Qualification: Degree in Engineering in disciplines of Aeronautical / Mechanical / Computer Science or Technology / Electronics / Electrical or combination of these branches, from a recognized University/Institution with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

Upper Age Limit: as on 01.10.2006 : 27 years. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.Ex Servicemen will be granted relaxation in age as per Government rules.

A relaxation in upper age limit by 5 years will be granted to persons who have ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of Jammu & Kashmir state during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.

Selection Procedure:
Applicants will have to appear for the Written Test/Group Discussion/Personal Interview.
The Written Test will be an Objective type test with multiple choice of answers.
The Written test will be held at Mumbai/Delhi/Kolkata/Chennai as per option of the applicant. In case sufficient candidates at the test centre are not available, the applicants will be required to appear for the written test at another centre at the discretion of the Company. Request for change of test centre will not be considered.

Those who qualify in the Written test will have to appear for Group Discussion and the candidates successful in Group Discussion will be called for Personal Interview. Candidates will have the option of replying in Hindi or English in the Personal Interview.
Successful GEN/OBC candidates will have to appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview (both at Mumbai) at their own cost.

SC/ST candidates called for Written Test/Group Discussion/Personal Interview who are residing beyond 80 kms from the nearest test centre and not employed in any Government/ Semi Government / Public Sector Undertaking or Autonomous Bodies will be reimbursed Second Class to and fro rail / bus fare by the shortest route from the nearest test centre as per Rules. Short-listed candidates will have to undergo Company Medical examination.

Remuneration:
Candidates selected for the post of Dy. Manager-Technical (Trainee) will undergo training for 12 months. During the period of training, they will be paid stipend of Rs.12,000/- per month. On successful completion of training, they will be placed on probation as Dy. Manager-Technical, in the pay scale of Rs. 5675-175-6550-200-7550-225-7775-250-8025 (pre-revised) subject to suitability.

Service Contract:
Selected candidates will be required to execute a Service Contract to serve the Company for a period of 5 yrs from the date of joining. They are also required to furnish sureties acceptable to the Company for an amount of Rs.50,000/- (in case of General & OBC candidates) and Rs.10,000/- (in case of SC/ST candidates). The condition is not relaxable even in case candidate belongs to Government Department/other PSUs.

Application Fee : For SC / ST – No fees. For GEN & OBC – Rs.300/-

The application fees must be submitted in the form of A/c Payee Demand Draft drawn in favour of Air-India Limited payable at Mumbai. Fees once submitted will not be refunded.

General:

a) Candidates belonging to the OBC category will be considered against the reserved posts for OBC only if they submit a Caste Certificate which specifically states that they do not belong to socially advanced sections and are not excluded from the benefits of reservations for OBC in Civil posts and services. The certificate should contain the ‘Non Creamy Layer’ Clause.

b) Applicants working in Government, Semi Government / Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies, must apply through proper channel only. However, an advance copy should be sent so as to reach before the last date specified. In such cases, their candidature will be considered only on provisional basis. Such applicants will be allowed to appear in the Personal Interview only if they produce “No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of Personal Interview.

c) The applicant should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility criteria regarding educational qualification and experience. Other particulars furnished should be correct in all respect. If at any stage, it is detected that the applicant does not meet the requirements stipulated for the post or has furnished false/ incorrect information, then his/her candidature will be cancelled and if appointed he/she will be removed from service.

d) Air-India is not responsible for any postal delay/loss at any stage of transmission/communication.

e) No accommodation will be provided by the Company.

f) As per Company rule, on confirmation, they will be eligible for Provident Fund, Gratuity etc.

g) Selected candidates may be required to work in shifts.

h) Applicants ordinarily domiciled in Kashmir Division of J&K state during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 and who are eligible for upper age relaxation, must produce the Domicile Certificate to this effect, at the time of interview, from District Magistrate of the Kashmir Division, within whose jurisdiction the applicant had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this regard by the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir.
i) Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidates or attempt to bring outside influence with regard to their selection/recruitment shall be considered as a DISQUALIFICATION.
j) Court jurisdiction will be Mumbai in case of any disputes.

How To Apply:
Applicants meeting with the eligibility criteria may apply in the specified format along with the applicable fee as Demand Draft. A recent passport size colour photograph, duly attested by Gazetted Officer, should be pasted neatly in the space provided in the application form. Attested copies of supportive documents in respect of item Nos. 4,6,9 & 13 of the application form must be submitted along with the application. Unsigned and incomplete applications will not be considered.

Note : The envelope containing the application should be superscribed as Dy. Manager-Technical (Trainee) on the top left corner of the envelope. Applications should be forwarded to the Exec. General

Only graduates who have completed their graduation in the year 2006 are eligible to apply.
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY, if you have appeared for any aptitude test with Cognizant in the last 12 months.
Candidates who have completed their graduation/post-graduation through distance education are not eligible to apply.
Aptitude Test

You will be required to appear for an aptitude test. This will be a test to assess your logical, analytical and reasoning abilities.

The duration of the test will be 75 minutes.

The venue and the time slot will be communicated to you through the hall ticket
Please bring the following documents with you for the test:

Original Academic certificates only for Std. X, XII and Graduation.

Valid photo Identity Card (Driver's License/Valid Passport/Voters ID/Letter from a gazetted Officer/College Authorities on an official letterhead with your photo attached therein with the sign and seal of the certifying authority affixed half across the sheet and continuing on to the photograph)

Hall tickets can be printed online upon successful submission of the details.

If the details in the hall ticket are incomplete (10th std certificate number, degree, branch) you may not be allowed to take the test.

If you do not carry the relevant documents mentioned above you WILL NOT be allowed to take the test.

IF YOU HAVE TAKEN THE TEST IN THE PAST, YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO TAKE THE TEST. Please refrain from applying/taking the test.
