Designation Hp Unix and Linux Deep Technical Support - Level 3 for Mumbai Walk In

Job Skill Requirements
Knowledge, support and maintain of (5 years minimum experience with the following):

HP_UX System Administrator certified/getting the certification within the first 6 months of employment

HP 9000 systems (N, L, Superdome, RPx), HP_UX 11.x

EMC and XP256/512/1024 storage arrays

LTO and DLT8000 libraries

Data Protector backup software (DP 5.0 and 5.1)

MS/Service Guard ; MC/SG for SAP, Oracle and NFS toolkit, familiar with bolt-on applications (MQ series, Gentran, Dazel, etc)

Fiber Channel SAN, TCP/IP, NFS, SAMBA, DNS, FTP, SMTP, BOOTP, NTP

Security Software: Medusa, PWPlus

HP-UX LVM, VxVM management

Performance analysis, Security analysis, Patch analysis and installation, System upgrade

* scripts skills such as Posix Shell, ksh, awk and Perl
* familiar with the ITSM/ITIL model (key process: Incident, Problem, Change Management, Configuration Management, SLA requirements, etc
* Ability to communicate technical contents plainly and simply
* Independent problem solver
* Experience with large UNIX HA environments, involved in administration and support



Perform daily UNIX administration tasks: users and groups administration, storage configuration, network and printer configuration, troubleshooting, software and patch installation, system performance and load balancing analysis (using Glance, MeasureWare, PerfView and Enterprise Performance Manager).



Escalate the outstanding issues to HP next level of support for problem resolution, implement the recommendations and monitor the systems insuring that the proper solution had been implemented.

3.3.1 - Incident management

Handle deep level elevated events, incidents, requests, and queries. Restore service availability with minimal interruption, often resolving the symptom rather than the underlying problem.

Complex and escalated incident management is not the majority of workload but required on demand.
3.3.2 - Problem management

Determine the root cause (underlying problem) of recurring, critical, or escalated incidents. TSS role is to analyze and make recommendations to resolve the root cause of incidents and limit or prevent problems across the environment. AOB role is in the submission of problems, execution of solution and tracking to closure. TSS will work with escalation teams and may need to work with the response center organization or other engineering resources in order to resolve complex issues.
3.3.3 - Release to production

TSS manages the introduction or deployment of products and services into the IT environment as specified in the service design documentation.
