Job Description

1.To extend, develop new features and enhancements in the exchange service layer in line with IG's IT policies and procedures
2.To work within IG's development / project life cycle from analysis to implementation, test and release
3.To work as part of the relevant IT development team and as part of the specific development project teams as dictated by project delivery and deadlines and in particular with Web, Java and Oracle PL/SQL developers and business analysts.
4.To remain up-to-date in respect of current and future upgrades as they relate to own and team's area of work
5.To participate in relevant IT and non-IT projects as directed by line manager.

Desired Candidate Profile

Essential :
Must have expert Core Java and J2EE skills, including JSP/Servlet, XML, XSLT, AJAX.
Exposure to Hibernate and/or any JDO implementations.
Strong understanding of MVC2 architecture and other important design patterns.
Must have knowledge of at least one J2EE application server and associated tools such as WebLogic, JBoss, Websphere, etc.

Must be skilled with software development tools such as Eclipse, Ant, JUnit, CVS, and shell scripting.

Desirable : Prior experience of developing SOAP based web services is desirable.
Previous experience of leading/mentoring a team is desirable
