Job Description


The NTEC R&D Lab is looking for enthusiastic and innovative SIP software designers to join its Enterprise Technology team. This team is responsible for delivering quality software design to the Nortel Communication Server and its SIP applications.


Candidate Profile

The successful candidate must work effectively as a member of a dynamic and innovative team in a fast paced and frequently changing environment. He/she will utilize their knowledge and growing experience with the SIP protocol and real-time software skills to design, implement, and support high quality software solutions for Nortel’s next generation enterprise products. He/she will have the opportunity to develop and demonstrate strong technical, leadership, and decision-making skills. There will be opportunity to explore a broad range of technologies and products

Required Qualifications / Experience:

Recent University graduate or post graduate in Electronics Engineering /Computer Science or equivalent

Experience with C/C++

Some experience with VoIP protocols, preferably SIP, SDP, H.323, TCP/IP and/or other telephony protocols

Some experience in delivering real-time software solutions

Have strong analytical and problem solving skills

Have excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills

Have excellent understanding of voice and data communication concepts

Preferred Additional Skills / Experience:


Knowledge of RFC3261, RFC3265, and RFC4266

Good knowledge of Linux, VxWorks, UNIX and Windows-based OS

Knowledge of security concepts, protocols, and encryption techniques.

Understanding of software design methodologies and processes
